ABSTRACT

Objective: To observe the present situation, efficacy and safety of immunotherapy in patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM). Methods: The data of 39 patients with MPM in two centers from 2016 to 2021 were collected and the efficacy and safety were evaluated. According to the application of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), these patients, whose median clinical follow-up amounting to 18.97 months, were divided into immunotherapy group (19 cases) and control group (20 cases). Kaplan-Meier method and Log-rank test were used for the survival analysis. Results: The objective response rate (ORR) and the disease control rate (DCR) in the immunotherapy group is 21.05% and 79.0% respectively, compared with 10.0% and 55.0% in the control group; and the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). The median overall survival (OS) in the immunotherapy group was significantly longer than that in the control group (14.53 months vs 7.07 months, P=0.015), but there was no significant difference in the median progression free survival (PFS) between two groups (4.80 months vs 2.03 months, P=0.062). Single factor survival analysis showed that the nature of pleural effusion, pathological subtype and the efficacy of immunotherapy were related to both PFS and OS of the patients with MPM (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in immunotherapy group was 89.5% (17 out of 19 cases), and the most common adverse event was hematological toxicity (9 cases), followed by nausea and vomiting (7 cases), fatigue (6 cases) and skin damage (6 cases). Five patients had immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) related adverse reactions with grade 1-2. Conclusions: Patients with MPM have begun to receive immunotherapy in more than 2-line mainly combined chemotherapy in the real world, and the median treatment line is 2-line. Either combined with chemotherapy or anti-angiogenesis therapy, ICI inhibitors have significant efficacy, controllable adverse events and good clinical value.

ABSTRACT

Objective To understand the role of estrogen, estrogen receptor and IL-17 in human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and clearance. Methods We selected the clinic or the hospitalized patients in People' s Hospital of Pudong New District hospital with HPV negative or single-HPV16 positive during the period of August 2014 to January 2017.Cervical exfoliated cells were harvested by Thinprep cytologic test (TCT).The reverse spot hybridization technique was carried out for HPV subtype analysis.RT-PCR was employed for HPV16 DNA viral load. The levels of E2 and IL-17 were detected by ELISA.Immunohistochemical was used to detect ER expression. The experiments were repeated every three months.According to the difference in the outcome of human papilloma virus 16 infection, the experiment was divided into three groups. The first group was HPV negative, which was negative for one year. The second group was HPV16 positive, but within one year the difference was gradually cleared. The third group was HPV16 positive, but the HPV16 persistently existed after one year. Results The results of the last test were compared with the first test results. We found that There was no significant difference among the three groups in the expression of E2 and ER.Also, there was no significant difference between the HPV negative group and the HPV16 persistently infected group in variation of IL-17 concentration. But the difference between the HPV16 cleared group and the anyone of the two groups above was significantly. The variation of IL-17 concentration was significantly higher in the HPV16 cleared group. Conclusion In normal cytology, and only HPV16 infected stage, endogenous E2 and ER of cervix may not play a role in HPV infection,or they may have little effect on HPV infection.Local immune factor IL-17 plays an important role in the process of HPV16 removal, and the increase of IL-17 concentration can help to eliminate HPV16.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the correlation between the types of vertebral artery occlusion and their compensatory hemodynamic changes and posterior circulation ischemia using color Doppler flow imaging combined with transcranial color-coded sonography. Methods From June 2015 to June 2016,A total of 108 patients with vertebral artery occlusion confirmed by vascular sonography, digital subtraction angiography (DSA) or CT angiography (CTA) were enrolled retrospectively.According to the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) findings, they were divided into posterior circulation infarction (n=78 in infarction group) and non-posterior circulation infarction (n=30 in TIA group).Color Doppler flow imaging and transcranial color Doppler ultrasonography were used to examine the contralateral vertebral artery extracranial diameter, peak systolic velocity(PSV) and end diastolic velocity(EDV) of bilateral extracranial and intracranial vertebral arteries. The differences of the vertebral artery occlusion types, establishment of collateral circulation and hemodynamic changes of the contralateral vertebral artery were compared between the two groups. Results The patients with single vertebral artery occlusion in the infarction group and TIA group were 69 (88.5%) and 26 (86.7%) respectively;those with bilateral vertebral artery occlusion were 9 (11.5%) and 4 (13.3%) respectively. There was no significant difference in the number of vertebral artery occlusion between the two groups (χ2=0.000,P=1.000).The proportion of patients with vertebral artery occlusion in intracranial segment in the infarction group was higher than that in the TIA group (70.5% [55/78] vs.36.7% (11/30);χ2=10.444,P=0.001).The proportion of patients with the establishment of collateral circulation in the infarction group was lower than that in the TIA group (14.1% [11/78] vs.43.3% (13/30);χ2=10.711,P=0.001).The peak systolic velocity (PSV) and the end diastolic velocity (EDV) of contralateral extracranial vertebral artery in patients with single vertebral artery occlusion in the TIA group were higher than those in the infarction group (65±21 cm/s vs.57±15 cm/s,25±8 cm/s vs.20±7 cm/s,t=2.043 and 2.606 respectively, all P<0.05).Conclusion The establishment of collateral circulation and hemodynamic compensation of the contralateral vertebral artery after vertebral artery occlusion were closely associated with the occurrence of posterior circulation ischemia.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the value of non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) in pregnant women with intermediate risk after traditional Down syndrome screening. Methods From March 1 2015 to March 31 2016, a total of 2 949 pregnant women with intermediate risk after traditional Down syndrome screening who received NIPT as the second-line screening method at Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital after informed consent were recruited for this study. Retrospective data analysis including the results of traditional Down syndrome screening, ultrasound, NIPT and invasive amniocentesis to fetal karyotype analysis were conducted, and pregnant outcomes were followed up. Results NIPT results were all obtained in 2 949 pregnant women with intermediate risk after traditional Down syndrome screening. Of 25 NIPT-positive cases, 24 cases received invasive amniocentesis to fetal karyotype analysis. Thirteen cases were confirmed with fetal chromosomal abnormalities including 5 cases of trisomy 21, 2 cases of trisomy 13, 4 cases of sex chromosomal abnormalities and 2 cases of other chromosomal abnormalities. In addition, 1 NIPT-positive case refused prenatal diagnosis was confirmed normal result after birth. The postnatal follow-up in NIPT-negative women did not find any newborn with chromosomal abnormality. The incidence of fetal chromosomal abnormalities in women with intermediate risk was 0.44% (13/2 949). Conclusion NIPT can be used as second-line screening method in pregnant women with intermediate risk after Down syndrome screening, which could lead to the prenatal detection of a higher proportion of fetal chromosomal abnormalities and a lower invasive-testing rate.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the evaluation value of anterior communicating artery patency for patients with severe carotid artery stenosis treated by carotid endarterectomy (CEA )with transcranial color Doppler ultrasonography. Methods From June 2014 to June 2015,89 consecutive inpatients with unilateral symptomatic severe carotid stenosis treated with CEA at the Department of Neurosurgery,Xuanwu Hospital,Capital Medical University were enrolled retrospectively. They were divided into either a patent group (n=45)or a non-patent group (n=44)according to whether the anterior communicating artery was patent or not (DSA findings). Whether the anterior communicating artery was patent or not diagnosed by the transcranial color Doppler ultrasonography was compared with the consistency of the digital subtraction angiography (DSA)results. The differences of intraoperatively implemented temporary shunt rate and the differences of hemodynamic parameters including peak velocity (PSV),end-diastolic velocity (EDV),and pulsatility index (PI)of the preoperative and postoperative bilateral middle cerebral artery and anterior cerebral artery (ACA)of both groups were analyzed. Results Compared with the results of DSA, the sensitivity and specificity of transcranial color Doppler ultrasonography for preoperative evaluation of the patency of anterior communicating artery were 91. 1%(41/45)and 97. 7%(43/44)respectively,the total accordance rate was 94. 4%(84/89)(Kappa=0. 888,P0.05). There were no significant differences in PSV,EDV and PI of the contralateral ACA in the non-patent group between after procedure and before procedure (all P>0. 05). Conclusions Transcranial color Doppler ultrasonography can accurately and objectively evaluate whether the anterior communicating artery is patent or not in patients with unilateral severe carotid stenosis. It has an important clinical significance for selective shunt in CEA and improving the success rate of CEA.

ABSTRACT

Objective To assess the influencing factors of the progression of carotid atherosclerotic stenosis using color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI). Methods From January 2009 to December 2014, a total of data 279 consecutive patients first assessed by CDFI as moderate stenosis of carotid atherosclerosis (stenosis rate 50 -69%)and regularly reexamined with CDFI at 12,24 and 36 months after initial examination were enrolled retrospectively. The residual diameter of vascular lesions and the changes of hemodynamic parameters were documented, and they were divided into either a progression group (n = 40)or a non-progression group (n = 239,and the non-progression group was divided into steady group[n = 210]and improved group [n = 29])according to whether the degree of stenosis progressed into severe stenosis (stenosis rate 70 -99%)or occlusion. The effects of the risk factors for common cerebrovascular disease and taking lipid lowering drugs (atorvastatin 20 mg/ d)on stenosis progression were compared in patients between the 2 groups. There were significant differences in hypertension, smoking and the regular use of atorvastatin . The effects of those factors on the progression of carotid stenosis were compared further through Logistic regression analysis. Results The residual vascular diameters of stenosis at 24,and 36 months were reduced obviously in the progression group compared with those of the non-progression group. There was significant difference (all P < 0. 05),and both the stenotic sites and distal peak systolic flow velocity ratio were significantly higher than those of the steady group and improved group (all P < 0. 05). Among the risk factors for cerebrovascular disease, hypertension (OR,2. 686,95% CI 1. 120 -6. 442,P = 0. 027)and smoking (OR,2. 265,95% CI 1. 081 -4. 746,P = 0. 030)were the major risk factors for affecting the progression of carotid stenosis. Regularly taking atorvastatin was a protective factor of delaying the progression of carotid stenosis (OR,0. 383,95% CI 0. 178 -0. 827,P = 0. 015). Conclusions CDFI may objectively evaluate the progression of carotid stenosis. Smoking and hypertension are the independent risk factors for affecting the progression of carotid stenosis, and regularly taking atorvastatin contributes to delay the progression of carotid stenosis.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo retrospectively analyze the distribution of artery involvement above the aortic arch and differences incidence of cerebral ischemic in patients with Takayasu’s arteritis (TA) by color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI).MethodsA total of 84 cases (aged from 11 to 70 years old, median age 39 years old) continuous observed from August 2005 to June 2013 were included in this study. All patients were detected by CDFI and confirmed by digital subtraction angiography (DSA) and clinical examination. The distribution of the involved arteries were analyzed.ResultsA total of 924 vessels (84 patients) was detected, 352 (38.1%) arteries involved inflammatory lesions. The prevalence rate of female was higher than male (92.9% and 7.1%) significantly. The symptoms of cerebral ischemic included dizziness, syncope, TIA, amaurosis etc. The involvement rate of common carotid artery (CCA) was the highest (94.0%), followed by the subclavian arterythe (SA) (82.1%). The detecting rate of bilateral CCA was higher than that of bilateral SA, 75% and 50% (χ2=15.732,P=0.003), respectively. The rate of combined lesions of CCA and SA were higher in left (64.3%) than the right 56% (χ2=12.777,P=0.001). Most patients had multiple vascular (≥ 3 vessels) diseases (69.1%). No significant difference was found in the incidence of cerebral ischemia symptoms in patients with bilateral CCA or SA lesions (74.6% with78.6%) (χ2=0.219,P=0.411). No significant difference was found inthe patients with left or right CCA combined with SA lesions (76.5% with 76.4% ,χ2=1.230, P=0.602) also. The incidence of cerebral ischemia for greater than 3 vessel disease was significantly higher than less vessels (69.1% with 30.9%) (χ2=6.674,P=0.010).ConclusionThe study in the distribution of aortic arch vascular lesion for the patients with Takayasu arteritis by CDFI is valuable for the early detection and treatment of vascular lesions, and decresing the incidence of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI)and transcranial color-coded sonography (TCCS)for detection and evaluation of severe stenosis of intracranial vertebral artery (IVA) before and after stenting,as well as the hemodynamic changes of restenosis and their clinical value. Methods A total of 102 patients with severe stenosis of IVA confirmed by CDFI plus TCCS and DSA from November 2011 to November 2013 were analyzed retrospectively. Extra- and intracranial segments peak systolic velocity (PSV),end-diastolic velocity (EDV),IVA pulsatility index (PI),extracranial resistance index (RI),tube diameter, spectrum morphology, and hemodynamic parameters before stenting and 1 week, 3,6 and 12 months after stenting were compared. According to the results of TCCS,they were further divided into either a restnosis group (n=16 )or a non-restnosis group (n=86 ). Results (1 )The results of TCCS detection showed:PSV,EDV,and PI of the stenotic segments were improved significantly at 1 week after stenting, they were 109 ± 40 cm/s vs. 258 ± 63 cm/s,47 ± 18 cm/s vs. 132 ± 45 cm/s,0. 91 ± 0. 15 vs. 0.75 ± 0. 18,respectively. There were significant differences (all P0. 05). (2)The results of CDFI showed:PSV and EDV of the ipsilateral extracranial segment were improved significantly after procedure compare with those before procedure, they were 64 ± 15 cm/s vs. 51 ± 15 cm/s and 24 ± 6 cm/s vs. 19 ± 7 cm/s (all P<0. 05). The RI value and vertebral artery diameter of the extracranial segment were improved gradually, and they reached the peak at 12 months after procedure (0. 61 ± 0. 07 vs. 0. 63 ± 0. 12,P=0. 038;3. 6 ± 0. 4 mm vs. 3. 4 ± 0.5 mm,P=0. 009). Conclusion CDFI in combination with TCCS can objectively evaluate the extra-and intracranial hemodynamic changes before and after IVA stenting, and provide reference information for the effectiveness of stenting and the imaging evaluation of restenosis.

ABSTRACT

Objectives Todynamicallyobservethechangesofhemodynamicparametersinpatients with severe stenosis of unilateral middle cerebral artery (MCA)by transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) andtoevaluateandanalyzetherelatedfactorsforinfluencingthestenoticprocess. Methods Atotalof 113 consecutive patients with severe stenosis of unilateral MCA screened by TCD and confirmed by computed tomography angiography (CTA)and digital subtraction angiography (DSA)were enrolled retrospectively. They were divided into either a progressive group (n =43 )or a non-progressive group (n=90)according to the variation of MCA hemodynamic parameters. The effects of age, sex, major risk factors for cerebrovascular disease, clinical symptoms, clinical medication, and drug compliance on the stenotic process were documented and analyzed. Results (1)The comparison of detection rate of the risk factors for cerebrovascular disease:The patients with a history of smoking (72. 1%[n=31])in the progressive group was significantly higher than that (51. 1%[n=46])in the non-progressive group (P=0.022). The period of smoking of the patients in the progressive group were longer than that in the non-progressive group (28 ± 12 years vs. 21 ± 10 years,P=0. 011). (2)Comparison of MCA hemodynamic parameters:The distal pulsatility indexes of MCA stenosis at the first diagnosis in the progressive group were all lower than those in the non-progressive group (0. 66 ± 0. 10 vs. 0. 70 ± 0. 13;t= -2. 096,P=0. 038),and the distal pulsatility indexes of MCA stenosis at the end point in the patients of the progressive group were lower than those in the non-progressive group (0. 61 ± 0. 15 vs. 0. 74 ± 0. 15). There were significant differences (t=-2. 718,P= 0. 008). The peak systolic velocity (PSV)of the progressive MCA stenotic segments at the end point in 10 patients of the progressive group was higher than that in the non-progressive group (299 ± 23 cm/s vs. 244 ± 50 cm/s,t=3. 437;P=0. 001),while PSV of MCA in 33 patients with occlusion in the progressive group were significantly lower than those in the non-progressive group (56 ± 18 cm/s vs. 244 ± 50 cm/s,t= -20. 905;P=0. 000). (3)The regular medication:The patients using statins (atorvastatin calcium)were significantly lower than those of the non-progressive group (2. 3%[n=1] vs. 54. 4%[n=49],χ2 =33. 690;P<0. 01). (4)During the follow up period, the recurrence rates of transient ischemic attack and stroke of the progressive group were significantly higher than those of the non-progressive group (27. 9%[n=12]vs. 6. 7%[n=6],32. 6%[n=14]vs. 2. 2%[n=2];all P<0.01). (5)Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that smokers (OR,4. 403,95%CI 1. 094-14.017),cerebrovascular event recurrence (OR,10. 648,95%CI 2. 530 -41. 261),and irregularly taking statins (OR,5. 675,95%CI 1. 631-152. 740)were all closely associated with the progress of severeMCAstenosis. Conclusion EvaluationofthehemodynamicchangesofsevereMCAstenosiswith TCD follow up study can be used as an important basis for clinical assessment of the outcomes. Stop smoking and regularly taking statins may help to delay the progress of MCA stenosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the short-term and long-term effects in patients of carotid artery subtotal or complete occlusion after carotid endarterectomy ( CEA) using vascular ultrasound. Methods A total of 107 consecutive patients were diagnosed as carotid artery occlusive disease with DSA and treated with CEA at Beijing Xuanwu Hospital,Capital Medical University from January 2005 to January 2014 were enrolled retrospectively. Sixty-three of them had subtotal occlusion ( the carotid artery stenosis rate 95% to 99%) and 44 had complete occlusion. The occurrence of perioperative complications of all patients was documented. The follow-up study used outpatient follow-up and telephone tracking. The patients of surgical recanalization were followed up with ultrasound at 1 week, 3, 6, 12, and 24 months after procedure. The clinical prognosis, restenosis, vascular structure and hemodynamic changes of the patients after CEA were documented. Results (1) Of the 107 patients,86 (80. 4%) achieved recanalization after procedure and 21 (19. 6%) did not. The incidence of stroke and death was 4. 7% (5 cases) within 30 days after procedure, among them the incidence of subtotal occlusion group was 4. 8% ( n=3 cases) and the complete occlusion group was 4. 5% (2 cases). (2) Within one week after procedure, the peak systolic velocity ( PSV) ,end diastolic velocity ( EDV) ,and pulsatility index ( PI) of the ipsilateral middle cerebral artery in the recanalization patients increased significantly (120 ± 39 cm/s vs 60 ± 17 cm/s,50 ± 18 cm/s vs 33±11cm/s,and0.96±0.20vs0.67±0.14,respectively).Thereweresignificantdifferences(allP6 to 12 months was 94. 2%(n=65),>12 to 24 months was 94. 2%(n=65),and more than 2 years was 91. 3%(n=63). Conclusion Vascular ultrasound can conduct short-term and long-term follow-up for carotid artery occlusive disease after CEA. The degree of blood flow improvement should be identified and restenosis should be found in time after procedure.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUNDThe genotype of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is associated with tyrosine kinase inhibitor and effectiveness of therapy, but its role in cytotoxic chemotherapy is still unknown. Previous studies indicated that certain EGFR mutations were associated with response and progression free survival following platinum based chemotherapy. Our recent studies have identified that EGFR genotypes in the tumour tissues were not associated with response to the first-line chemotherapy in Chinese patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In this study, we investigated associations of EGFR genotypes from plasma of patients with advanced NSCLC and response to first-line chemotherapy and prognosis.

METHODSWe enrolled 145 advanced NSCLC patients who had received first-line chemotherapy in our department. We examined plasma EGFR genotypes for these patients and associations of EGFR mutations with response to chemotherapy and clinical outcomes.

RESULTSThere were 54 patients with known EGFR mutations and 91 cases of wild types. No significant difference was detected in the response rate to first-line chemotherapy between mutation carriers and wild-type patients (37.0% vs. 31.9%). The median survival time and 1-, 2-year survival rates were higher in mutation carriers than wild-types (24 months vs. 18 months, 85.7% vs. 65.7% and 43.7% vs. 25.9%, P = 0.047). Clinical stage (IV vs. IIIb), response to the first-line chemotherapy (partial vs. no) and EGFR genotype were independent prognostic factors.

CONCLUSIONPlasma EGFR mutations in the Chinese patients with advanced NSCLC is not a predictor for the response to first-line chemotherapy, but an independent prognostic factor indicating longer survival.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUNDMassive presacral venous plexus hemorrhage during radical resection of rectal carcinoma is rare, but when it occurs, bleeding can be uncontrollable, leading to death in some cases. Medical adhesive gauze sticking and packing and thumbtack compressive fixation are often used for hemostasis, but these methods are not effective in cases of uncontrollable massive hemorrhage. Therefore, identifying a practical, accurate, and reliable method of hemostasis in these cases is essential.

METHODSBetween January 2004 and December 2009, we treated 3 patients with massive presacral venous plexus hemorrhage during resection of rectal carcinoma by placing small, trimmed thin steel plates at the bleeding sites. The plates were fixed with a saddle-type application of thumbtacks.

RESULTSBleeding was successfully controlled in all 3 patients, and intestinal anastomosis was carried out after hemostasis. No complications were observed.

CONCLUSIONSApplication of a small, thin steel plate to the bleeding site with thumbtack fixation is a simple and effective method of hemostasis in patients with massive presacral venous plexus hemorrhage during resection of rectal carcinoma.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the combination of color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) and transcranial Doppler (TCD) in the assessment of the hemodynamic changes of vertebral artery occlusion disease and their clinical value. Methods A total of 101 patients with vertebral artery occlusion detected by the combination of CDFI and TCD and confirmed by DSA were enrolled from January 2005 to January 2009. Taking the result of digital subtraction angiography (DSA) as a golden standard, The differences between the different types of the side of vertebral artery occlusion and contralateral vertebral artery on the extra- and intracranial segments were compared and analyzed in peak systolic velocity (PSV), end diastolic velocity (EDV), resistive indices (RI), pulsatility index (PI), spectrum morphology, and hemodynamics. Results No blood flow signals were detected by CDFI and TCD in patients of complete occlusion of the vertebral artery; the weak blood flow signals were detected by CDFI in patients of the occlusion in the intracranial segment of the vertebral artery. 3he blood flow signals after the establishment of collateral circulation in patients of the segmental occlusion were detected in the extraeranial segment or intraeranial segment of the vertebral artery. The PSV on the occluded sides of the extraeranial segments were decreased more significantly than that on the unoccluded sides (27.39 ± 12.44 cm/s vs. 62.61 ± 13.22 cm/s, P = 0.000); RI was significantly higher than the unoccluded sides (0. 99 ± 0. 21 vs. 0. 62 ± 0.07, P = 0. 000). When a vertebral artery had the segmental occlusion and the collateral circulation was established, the PSV, EDV, and PI of the intracranial segment of the vertebral artery on the occluded sides were decreased more significantly than those on the unoccluded sides, PSV were 37. 81 ± 12.28 cm/s and 73.17±30. 99 cm/s, respectively (P =0. 000), EDV were 17.58 ± 7.10 cm/s and 29.31 ± 12.94 cm/s, respectively (P = 0. 000), PI were 0.84 ± 0.22 and 1.01 ±0. 18, respectively (P=0. 000). The compard DSA showed that the sites of vertebral artery occlusion were different, There was significant difference in the Doppler flow velocity spectrum between the CDFI and TCD. Conclusions PSV, EDV, RI, and PI are the hemodynamic parameters of accurately assessing vertebral artery occlusion, and the combination of CDFI and TCD has significant value for the hemodynamie changes of different types of vertebral artery occlusion and the clinical comprehensive assessment.

ABSTRACT

Objective To establish the animal model of denervation of sympathetic nerve and to explore the effects of denervation of the sympathetic nerve on liver regeneration after partial resection. Methods The animal model of denervation of sympathetic nerve was made with 6-OHDA. A total of thirty male Wistar rats were divided equally into experimental and control group. The left and middle lobe of liver were resected with improved Higgins and Anderson's method. Meanwhile, denervation was made in the experimental group. All the rats were killed by haemospasia on the 7 th day after operation. HMI, RLR and MI were measured. The rates of DNA synthesis were detected by 3H-TdR method. Results The concentration of NE decreased extremely on day 3 to day 14 after administration of 6-ONDA. No death happened in all the rats 7 days after liver resection. HMI, RLR, MI and 3H-TdR incorporation significantly decreased in experimental group compared with that in control (P<0.01). Conclusion The chemical denervation of sympathetic nerve can be aroused by administration of 6-OHDA. Regeneration of the liver is inhibited by the denervation of sympathetic nerves.
